About the role

The successful candidate will be highly organised with the ability to keep calm while dealing with multiple tasks. They will also be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. The candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to communicate in a professional manner with a wide variety of people. The candidate will be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office software’s, with the ability to learn Busby’s processes and systems. A basic knowledge of social media, photographic equipment and Adobe Photoshop or similar would be advantageous.

Duties will include

  • Process the items received for auction which need to be checked in, moved, sorted, labelled, catalogued, photographed and displayed.
  • Research items including authenticity, provenance and history for auction valuation using online databases, the internet and outside experts.
  • Research and write catalogue notes and other marketing material where appropriate.
  • Assist the general public in viewing items and providing condition reports during auction weeks.
  • Assist clients via e-mail, telephone and on-site.
  • Checking out items to purchasers after auctions, assist with after sale payments and shipping.

  • Full time / permanent role
  • Monday to Friday: 9am – 5:30pm
  • Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 p.a. dependant on experience
