Three miniature antique globes coming up for auction

This English 3in (7.5cm) terrestrial pocket globe by Carey, London, is dated 1791 and estimated at £1500-2000 at C&T in Tunbridge Wells on January 22.

Well, that dream can become reality if you successfully bid for a miniature globe that is coming up for auction this month.

1. A 3in pocket globe from 1791

This English 3in (7.5cm) terrestrial pocket globe by Carey, London, is dated 1791 and comes in its original fish skin case with brass hooks and eyes. The globes comprise 12 printed paper gores, including tracks of Captain Cook (1773, 1774, 1775) as well as 'Diemens Land and New Zeeland'.

The case is lined with northern and southern hemisphere celestial paper gores (sections). It is estimated at £1500-2000 at C&T in Tunbridge Wells on January 22.

2. A 19th century 1.5in pocket globe

An early 19th century English 1.5in (4cm) miniature pocket globe to be offered at Chiswick Auctions on January 21 with an estimate at £800-1200.

An early 19th century English 1.5in (4cm) miniature pocket globe in domed mahogany case is offered at Chiswick Auctions on January 21 with an estimate at £800-1200. Chiswick states in the catalogue description that James Wyld and Newton & Sons both produced miniature globes of this type in domed, mahogany cases in the first half of the 19th century.

3. 19th century globe folding card
