Featured classic cars and more at Bonhams “MPH” auction

Below is a selection of lots featured at its next sale, which includes automobiles from the early 20^th century as well as more unusual pieces of vehicle history.

1976 Porsche

With an estimate of £22,000-28,000, this 1976 Porsche 911 is a usable classic car. It has been owned by the vendor since 1987 and its engine was rebuilt in 1992. It presents well with good bodywork and paint and inside has re-trimmed seats. However, please note that Bonhams operates an aggregate bidding limit of £25,000 for online selling. 1948 Alvis

This 1948 Alvis TA 14, chassis no 21786, has an estimate of £10,000-15,000 at Bonhams’ MPH Auction on March 21.

This 1948 Alvis TA 14, chassis no 21786, is an example of a Duncan bodied Alvis model. Ian Duncan worked with the Bristol Aeroplane Company's Roy Fedden, where he gained experience about marrying strength with little weight. Figures vary on how many Duncan-bodied Alvis models were built but it is likely fewer than 40, meaning this long-term stored example (that was put away with around 12,000 miles on the clock) is a highly special find. It has an estimate of £10,000-15,000.

1951 Land Rover

This 1951 Land Rover has an estimate of £15,000-20,000 at Bonhams’ MPH Auction on March 21.

This classic 1951 Land Rover Series 1, chassis no. 26102623, has an estimate of £15,000-20,000. This example is catalogued as running well, and though body paint is good to fair the auctioneers add: “Land Rovers – and especially older ones – are one classic where appearance isn't all about looking showroom fresh”.

1922 Morris Cowley Bullnose

This 1922 Morris Cowley Bullnose has an estimate of £10,000-15,000 at Bonhams’ MPH Auction on March 21.

Estimated at £10,000-15,000 this 1922 Morris Cowley Bullnose, chassis no 10598 is a classic British car. Preservation interest beginning after the war spurred on by Jarman and Barraclough's notable book 'The Bullnose and Flatnose Morris'. Dubbed 'Flanagan', by the vendor, this car was bought by her father in 1968 and it was last used for her wedding in 1990. Since that date the Cowley has been garaged but that has contributed to its well-preserved bodywork, which boasts good panels and paint and a very good soft top.
