Consigned from a deceased Derbyshire etstate, it was estimated at £1000-1500 in the firm’s inaugural Fine Art Auction on October 31. The 4ft 5in (1.35m) tall x 3ft 4½in (1.03m) wide x 21in (53cm) deep house took £6000 from a British buyer after bidding from the UK and France.
Also sold here separately were the contents of that house, making £3500 overall in 17 lots. They included an c.1910 white painted Louis XVI salon suite that made £500 (guide £60-100).
